Hello parents!
Today we had a speaker by the name of Cory Greenwood. Cory presented some powerful messages. At the Elementary level Cory empowered the students to value others, respect differences, use their words to lift others up, take responsibility for who they are and what they do as well as help create a positive and safe learning environment.
At the Middle and High school level Cory empowered students to find a mentor, appreciate and respect differences of those around them, focus on solutions instead of dwelling on the problem, as well as making healthy decisions.
Please support Cory and his message "Your Story Matters" by asking your child about today’s presentation.
The Malheur County Juvenile Department and the Malheur ESD will be hosting a Parent Presentation of "Keeping Our Kids Cyber Safe" presentation on the following date and times: September 12th in Nyssa @ Nyssa High School auditorium (6:30-8:30pm MST).
6th Grade Parent Teacher Check-in - TODAY September 7th at 6pm in the middle school commons. The 6th grade teachers would like to check in with the 6th grade parents to help build upon the successful start of school. They are excited to help their students and families succeed and to share their goals for the year. Familias de NHS, Esperamos ver a todos nuestros estudiantes mañana 21 de agosto para el primer día de clases. Los horarios están disponibles en StudentVue y una copia impresa estará disponible mañana por la mañana en la oficina principal. Tendremos una asamblea de toda la escuela a las 8:00 en el auditorio. Recuerde que nuestro día escolar este año escolar es de 8:00 a 3:30 con prácticas deportivas a partir de las 4:00. We look forward to seeing all of our student tomorrow August 21 for the first day of school. Schedules are available on StudentVue and a printed copy will be available tomorrow morning by the main office. We will have a school-wide assembly at 8:00 in the auditorium. Please remember that our school day this school year is 8:00-3:30 with sports practices starting at 4:00. Please help your child have a great first day by ensuring that they dress according to our school dress code which this year includes no rips or holes in jeans. We appreciate your help and are looking forward to an amazing school year.
La noche de regreso a la escuela de Nyssa High School es hoy de 4:00 a 6:00. Los estudiantes podrán pagar gastos, obtener sus lockers conocer a sus nuevos maestros, y recoger sus chromebooks. Los horarios de los estudiantes están en StudentVue y nuestro consejero estará disponible para ayudar con las solicitudes de cambio de horario. The Nyssa High School Back To School Night is today from 4:00-6:00. Students will be able to pay fees, get their lockers , and meet their new teachers. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors will also be able to pick up their chromebooks. Student schedules are on ParentVue and StudentVue and our counselor will be available to assist with schedule change requests.
Since we are still in transition from construction please use the gym entrance first where you can pick up a bingo card, pay fees, and if needed request a schedule change. Then go to the main building to get your locker and chromebooks and meet your teachers. We look forward to seeing you tonight.
Nyssa Middle School Back to School Night : TODAY(8-17) from 4:00-6:00. It is an excellent opportunity to figure out where your classes are, meet your teachers, practice how to open your locker, and drop off your school supplies. We look forward to seeing everyone!
MS Fall practices will start on Monday August 21st. Sports paperwork can be picked up at the MS school office and needs to be returned to the office prior to starting practice

Nyssa Students Represent at the Malheur County Fair
It's truly heartwarming to witness the growth and development of these young individuals as they take on various challenges and learning opportunities through their participation in FFA, 4H and other organizations. The Malheur County Fair provides an excellent platform for them to showcase their talents, skills, and the knowledge they have gained through their engagement in agricultural education. Our students' commitment to excellence is a testament to the quality of education and guidance they receive from our Nyssa School District.
I firmly believe that supporting and encouraging our students not only fosters a sense of community pride but also contributes to their personal growth and leadership development. These experiences will undoubtedly serve them well as they move forward in their academic and professional journeys.
As parents, teachers, and community members, it is our collective responsibility to continue empowering and uplifting our students. By attending events like the Malheur County Fair, we demonstrate our unwavering support and appreciation for their hard work and achievements.
