Only ONE more weekend until school starts! Nyssa School District is ready after a great Back to School Night. Teachers were met, lockers were practiced, the playground was dedicated, and Bulldogs are excited for school! We’ll see everyone Monday!

Here's this week's athletic schedule! Congratulations to Ian Esplin and Brennan Cutler for qualifying for the State Tennis Tournament this week in Corvallis! Good luck to our Softball team against Burns as they look to clinch a spot in the State Playoffs. Our Track team is headed to Districts this weekend hoping to qualify athletes for the State Meet in Eugene. Good luck, and GO BULLDOGS! ¡Aquí está el calendario deportivo de esta semana! ¡Felicidades a Ian Esplin y Brennan Cutler por calificar al Torneo Estatal de Tenis esta semana en Corvallis! We want to celebrate our amazing Nyssa High School BPA students who recently competed at Nationals in Orlando. Cadi Corn placed 2nd in Public Speaking and 3rd in Business Law. The Video Production Team, which included Tyler Young, Oscar Iniguez, Bryan Sanchez, and Mason Ballantyne, finished 4th in the nation. Ava Anderson placed 11th in Word Processing and earned a YouScience certification. Avi Long, Jazlyn Martinez, and Xavier Montes also had a great experience and made us proud. To be this successful at the national level is a great accomplishment for our students and school, and we’re proud of how well they represented Nyssa. Queremos celebrar a nuestros increíbles estudiantes de BPA de la Preparatoria de Nyssa que recientemente participaron en la competencia nacional en Orlando. Cadi Corn obtuvo el segundo lugar en Discursos Públicos y el tercer lugar en Leyes de Negocios. Tener este nivel de éxito a nivel nacional es un gran logro para nuestros estudiantes y nuestra escuela, y estamos muy orgullosos de cómo representaron a Nyssa.

Here are the next recipients of our Olympic Torch, chosen by the M.S. ISC Team. Here is what was shared: "We are honored to pass the Torch to Erin Beck, Kris Hernandez, Elyssa Olvera, Cindy Ramos and Kendalee Garner. From one Resource Room to another, we know how much hard and dedicated work goes into helping our students with high support needs. Erin and Kris have been great representations of how to step into important roles and not only make it their own, but be successful at it. Elyssa, Cindy and Kendalee are an excellent example of being flexible, caring and patient. The High School SPED Team goes above and beyond to ensure their students achieve their goals and dreams. It really does take a team, and this team is nothing short of extraordinary." Congrats everyone! Today we celebrated our incredible School Nurses! A huge thank you to Nurse De Witt and Nurse Ward for everything you do! Caring for our students through bumps, scrapes, cuts, nosebleeds, sick days, and so much more. Because of your compassion and care, our students feel better, stay safe, and can get back to learning. We appreciate you every day! ¡Hoy celebramos a nuestras increíbles Enfermeras Escolares! ¡Muchísimas gracias a la enfermera De Witt y a la enfermera Ward por todo lo que hacen! Cuidando a nuestros estudiantes con golpes, raspones, cortaduras, sangrados de nariz, cuando se sienten mal, y mucho más. Gracias a su compasión y cariño, nuestros estudiantes se sienten mejor, están seguros y pueden regresar a aprender. ¡Las apreciamos mucho cada día!

Miss Gallegos is awesome with her students. She and Dulce, Norma, Stephanie, and Naomi C do such a great job of making the students in their room feel seen, loved, and included while teaching them as well.
