Nyssa High School Families,
Just a reminder that the semester ends Thursday, January 7. Students who are not passing classes are encouraged to attend those classes in-person this week. The one class limit has been removed for those students in danger of losing credit. For all other students we are continuing our limited in-person instruction for one class period while we plan for a full return to on campus instruction on January 25. Nyssa School District Parents and Students,
Just a reminder that school will resume on Tuesday, January 5 and will follow the same schedule as we were following in December. As you know, Governor Brown issued a letter to all schools on December 23 that encourages all schools to get back to in-person schooling soon. We have much to prepare, including surveys for all of you. We plan to return to a full day of classes for all students by January 25, 2021. I recognize that not all students and parents will feel comfortable returning to a full day, so we will continue to offer distance learning for the rest of this school year. We are very excited about this news, and look forward to working with all of you in the coming weeks to make this a reality.

Quisiera recordarles que vamos a continuar con las clases el 5 de enero. Quizas saben de la carta que la gobernadora de Oregon envio a todas las escuelas el 23 de diciembre. En esta carta, ella dice que las escuelas necesitan empezar con estudiantes en persona. Por supuesto, queremos hacerlo con cuidado y con el conocimiento de padres y estudiantes. Anticipamos que podemos empezar en persona el 25 de enero 2021. Hasta entonces, continuaremos con el mismo horario que seguimos en diciembre. Para los estudiantes y padres que no van a regresar en persona, continuaremos en ofrecer aprendizaje de distancia como antes. Estamos animados ver a todos los estudiantes!

The end of first semester is January 7, 2021 however you will not need your textbooks after Winter Break unless you are completing make-up work. The high school will be open Friday 8:00-3:00 to return textbooks for first semester. This allows us to inventory and redistribute on January 8 for the second semester.
