We are planning a couple of different scenarios for our graduation ceremony based on county covid-19 levels. Nyssa High School Families, Parent Teacher Conferences are today from 8:00-12:00, 1:00-4:00, and 5:00-8:30. Due to Covid-19 all conferences will be held by zoom or by phone and are optional for those students with no D or F grades. If you did not schedule a conference, it is not too late. NES Parents: here is a clarification of school rules regarding drop off (a.m) and pick-up (p.m) arrangements for your students. If you wish to change the regularly scheduled plans for your child, please provide the office with a written note the day of the planned change. That way, the office will have the current information, and can notify classroom teachers accordingly. It will help us to keep everyone safe, and going where they need to go! Thank you!

This year, school has been significantly disrupted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and other factors. In response, ODE asked the United States Department of Education for a temporary pause (also known as a “waiver”) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math testing. A pause is also being requested for science testing, but science testing is not subject to this opt-out rule. • If this waiver request is approved, then statewide ELA and Math testing will not happen this year, and there will be no need for parents to submit opt-out forms to their child’s school. • If the waiver request is not approved, test windows will open on April 13, 2021.
