Dear Nyssa School District Patrons, Since the release of the governor's decision on July 29 to require masks in schools, many of you have asked how you can let your voices be heard. Please know that all members of the Nyssa School District Board of Directors and I believe this decision should be made at the local level in collaboration with our local health authority. However, since the decision to require masks in schools was made at the state level, the best way for Nyssa patrons to provide feedback is to write a letter to state leaders. Nyssa High School Families,  Online registration for the 2021-2022 school year is now available at the district website www.nyssa.k12.or.us or on Parentvue.  For your convenience all registration can be completed online. Please call us at 541-372-2287 if you have questions or need assistance with login information.   The high school office will also be open 8/2 from 8:00-3:00, and on 8/3 from 8:00-8:00 to complete paperwork for fall sports or pay fees.  Student schedules will soon be available in Studentvue.  If you have a schedule conflict or questions regarding your schedule please email our counselor Bobby Deleon at bdeleon@nyssasd.org and include our counseling office manager Sara Sapp at ssapp@nyssasd.org.   Thank you!

Parents, I apologize for sending incorrect information just now. Specifically, our summer school students and staff did wear masks through the month of June until the governor allowed us to make the decision at the local level. Summer school ended on June 30. Our school board voted on July 12 to make masks optional. The governor's letter yesterday requires us to go back to masks in-person when school begins on August 23. We are hopeful that your voices can be heard in allowing us to go back to the original decision to allow the decision to be made at the local level.

The NHS girls basketball team won their game yesterday, and will play again tomorrow (Thursday) at 2:00 pm Mountain Time. We will once again broadcast the game at the Nyssa High School auditorium for all who would like to see. Admission is free. Pass the word to anyone who may be interested, and come cheer on the Lady Bulldogs with others in our community!
