Dear Students and Families,
We are following up with students and families who regularly park on the Nyssa High School campus to please complete the parking permit registration process.
Registering vehicles helps us support student safety and security. It also helps us contact the appropriate student or family if a concern arises.
Please take a few minutes to complete the parking permit registration and display a permit if you have not already done so. **While no sanctions will be issued if you choose not to complete the registration process, we strongly encourage everyone who parks on campus to register their vehicle.**
We appreciate your cooperation and your help in keeping our campus safe and organized.

Nyssa High School took their seven senior Soccer Girls to participate in this year's StoryTime event at the Four Rivers Cultural Center. Kindergarten classes from around the area came together for a morning of reading and connecting with older students.
It was a great opportunity for our senior student-athletes to give back by reading to Nyssa's five elementary classes and connecting with younger students in our community. We are proud of our seniors for taking the time to participate, represent Nyssa High School, and be positive role models for our younger students.
La Preparatoria de Nyssa llevo sus siete jugadoras de último año del Equipo de Fútbol a participar en el evento StoryTime de este año en el Centro Cultural Cuatro Rios. Las clases de Kínder de diferentes lugares del área se reunieron para disfrutar de una mañana de lectura y convivencia con estudiantes mayores.
Fue una gran oportunidad para que nuestras estudiantes atletas de último año apoyaran a la comunidad leyendo a las cinco clases de la Primaria de Nyssa y conviviendo con los estudiantes más jóvenes de nuestra comunidad. Estamos orgullosos de nuestras estudiantes de último año por tomarse el tiempo para participar, representar a la Preparatoria de Nyssa y ser un ejemplo positivo para nuestros estudiantes pequeños.

We’re excited to share some of the great things our students accomplished over the summer:
Joaquin Cuevas, Diego Campuzano, Marcelo Candelas, and Mr. Esplin attended Ready2Respond, a week-long event held in Albany, Oregon. The event simulated a wildland fire base camp that was set up and operated by students involved in building, culinary, first aid, and communications programs.
They were assigned to Team Bravo, where students used blueprints to construct an emergency shelter and three emergency sheds that will be transported throughout Oregon for use during emergencies. Our students were responsible for framing walls and quickly impressed the instructors with their knowledge and skills.
When two less-experienced students joined their group, Joaquin, Diego, and Marcelo welcomed them and stepped into leadership roles, teaching them and helping them become part of the team. Their gritty work ethic, willingness to be all in, ability to communicate, and professionalism continued to stand out throughout the week. By the end of the event, other instructors were asking our Bulldogs to assist wherever skilled and dependable help was needed.
At the closing awards ceremony, Team Bravo received four distinguished student awards—and three of them went to our Nyssa Bulldogs!
We are incredibly proud of Joaquin, Diego, and Marcelo for representing Nyssa so well. Thank you to everyone who supports and mentors our students, helping them succeed and providing opportunities for them to contribute to the community. Way to lead, Bulldogs!

El evento simuló un campamento base para combatir incendios forestales, el cual fue instalado y operado por estudiantes de programas de construcción, artes culinarias, primeros auxilios y comunicaciones.
Fueron asignados al Equipo Bravo, donde los estudiantes utilizaron planos para construir un refugio de emergencia y tres cobertizos de emergencia que serán transportados por todo Oregon para utilizarse durante situaciones de emergencia. Out of the nine kids working camp crew at Westcliffe Colorado, Nyssa had the highest representation. One post grad and three current seniors.

This crew also received a perfect score on their review and according to one student that was there, their leader Kent said that was the first time he’s ever seen that. One of the comments was how the kids picked up trash around town without anyone telling them to, and being respectful to the citizens of Westcliffe, and their town.
Football Parents - great news!! We were able to vill our lost JV game this week!!! The JV football team will play Payette (yes, back to back weeks).

Here’s our schedule for this week’s sporting events! Volleyball’s home opener is Tuesday, followed by another match on Thursday. Varsity football hosts Parma on Friday, and boys and girls soccer play at home on Saturday afternoon. Come out and support our Bulldogs!
